Excel 2003 - white shapes printing black

I have a user with a laptop with excel 2003 - service pack 3 on office standard, all latest updates.

I am printing to an enterprise printer RICOH Aficio MP 5000 PCL 5e

Shapes (rectangle in this case) that are white are printing black.

I've tried to replicate this on another excel 2003 laptop but printing is fine over there. I've restored printer defaults for him. I've also deleted the printer then installed it again.

He can print to our color printer RICOH and they come out white / clear as desired.

Also if we make the shape 100% transparent, the object prints white/clear. But unfortunately there are some documents with hundreds of shapes so changing them isn't really an option.

Anyone EVER seen this issue before? Strangest thing I've seen in a looong time.

BTW if someone can redirect me to a more applicable forum than this, that would be great!

    Hi,

Just a thought, have you got the latest printer drivers on that laptop?

All laptops in the office have the same drivers. The reason I know this is that I installed all of them :-D.. from the printer share.

    Any other ideas?
