Cannot get chart to behave

I'm using 2007. I have multiple things that each have 3 data points. A start, middle, (not the average or mean, just a spot in between) and an end. I want to display them in a bar chart type way. The data points are time. A start of one activity, end of that/start of the next, and the end of the 2nd activity. I've attached a little MS paint drawing that shows what I'm going for.

I've tried to manipulate bar charts, XY scatters, and line graphs to make this happen with no luck.
