    set column type to "Text"

    Hi,
    how can i set a column type to "Text" permanently. i am using excell 2003.
    i tried using format->cells->number->text for a column.
    but whenever i paste some numeric value in any cell of the column, the cell again become numeric. how to solve this problem.

    The normal procedure is to use Paste Special -> Values.
