    Chart Formatting

    Hi,

    I am trying to come close to replicate this WSJ graphic - attached

    The problem is that I dont know how to get the "trillion" in at the top number on the y-axis. Also, there is the date on the bottom, which I cannot get to appear in the same format and with the 2009 displayed under January.

    Here is an effort that looks like it but you need some slight of hand for the x-axis label, and the "trillion" bit. I used 2003; with 2007 you can get better colors, etc., but I think the same limitations are still there.

    The formatting for all axis labels has to be the same; you can't just put a "$" on one of them. I did it with text boxes.

    I don't know where you're going to get the raw data; I just ballparked the first and last points and did straight-line interpolation.
