tools/share workbook but it really depends on what you want to do with it once shared

Hi,
I'm using Excel 2007 and when I tried to do this I have data in cells misalign after saving. Here's what I mean.
I set up a file on the shared network drive called "Test file".
I then selected to share the workbook:
Review > changes > share workbook > editing > allow changes
I then saved the file and opened it on another machine.
I entered data in column A on one machine and data in column B on the other.
When I went to save both the data from the machine I save on last shifts the data from the machine I saved on first down a number of rows. (Other than perhaps explaining myself poorly) What am I doing wrong?
