I have set up a sheet to count up entries on sheet1 between two dates on sheet 2. I have used this forumla before with great success. However the data has been extracted from another database into excel and the sumproduct fails to count.
Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong ??

That's because your dates are not dates actually... Try double click on it to see
Also, since you using XL 2007 maybe COUNTIFS would be more efficiant:
=COUNTIFS(Sheet1!M:M,">="&B1,Sheet1!M:M,"<="&B2)
Never use Merged Cells in Excel
