I am trying to merge a text cell & data cell into one:
for example, I have text "Total Payroll" in one cell and and calculated amount in another cell. Is there a way to combine both cells into one new cell, without losing any of the text or data?

if you have currency or other formatted cell use text()
e.g
=a1&" "&TEXT(b1,"£#,##0.00")
or
=A1&" "&TEXT(B1,"0.00")
