    Can I Change Keyboard Shortcuts?

In my Excel 2007 the "/" key works just like ALT in that it brings up the Keyboard Shortcut options. Unlike ALT hitting it abain doesn't turn off the options. I'd like to use "/" as the first character in a cell so is there a way to turn off its Keyboard command? I can precede the "/" with a space but that starts messing with alignment. Thanks.
