Excel 2007 : Find and copy data using if condition

Hi all,
I am trying check in column A, which contains and list of categories, of which I only have to copy the first category from the cell and paste it to corresponding cell in column B.

The formula I am using is with if statement, which works fine for multi category cells but returns error for single category cell.

It will be great if someone can help.
