Cell linking to another document, can I make the path name link to a cell?

I have a document that currently references a different excel workbook. Each month I update this piece of MI and have to change the folder it references as it changes each month.

e.g. last month the cell might link to c:\work\January\MI.xls, whereas this month I would need to change the January to February.

Is there a way to get the path name to reference a cell that contains the month in question.

e.g. c:\work\$A$1\MI.xls where A1 contains the month.

There are team members that update the document in any given month so Im wanting to make it as automated as possible

Most probably, what you are asking is feasible ...
But ... beforehand, you do have to determine if you will be working with closed or opened workbooks ...

Your problem has already been addressed several times in the forum ...

Since you are dealing with closed files, you should be looking into one the following :

1. the UDF called PULL() that Harlan Grove wrote, which retrieves the value from a closed workbook.

2. Laurent Longre has an addin (morefunc.xll) to be downloaded at: http://xcell05.free.fr/
It includes the function indirect.ext() that solves your problem.

3. For large queries, you might want to go into coding an SQL query
