    Separate Address from Cell

I have a dataset with full addreses listed in one cell. I would like to use "text to columns" to separate the data but am unable to use the text separater in the wizard.

When I open the text to columns wizard the data appears to be divided with a "square" but I cannot add it as "other" for the delimeter.

    Please see the attached.

    Hi Mpquin,

This is a pretty common request, and the issue is that you have carriage returns (ALT+ENTER) between each line of data in the cell. You can still use Text-to-Columns, but change the delimiter to "Other" and in the textbox next to that do the following:

Hold down the ALT key, and on the number pad (not the number keys above your letters on the keyboard) type 010 then let go of the ALT key. You should then see your data separate in the sample data shown at the bottom, so click Next and Finish.

    Hope that helps!
