Hide rows depending on data, BUT merge other data

Please see the attached example.

In columns A B C D F G H - The data for each customer stays the same.

In E it changes

What I want to do is hide the rows 2,3 and 4 in the example (Mr Cox) but when hovering the mouse above E1 it will show the data in cells E1 E2, E3 and E4.

The problem with the sheet is that it shows the customer name and vehicle info to many times and we want to tidy it up. But we need a way of seeing ALL of the work the customer is in for.

Any other ideas how would be great.

Hi there,

If I understand correctly, you want to view each customer (and car) and show what work is being done to each. A PivotTable could do this (see attached). If you have a lot more data than this and there are multiple dates for each the table will need a bit of reworking, but the attached document shows each customer seperately with all the jobs.

If you collapse the rows (right click on a name > Expand / Collapse > Collapse Entire Field) you will be left with only the customer names, you can then click the + button when you need to view detailed information on each.
