    offset,match,index & vlookup

    Hi,

from vlookup formula, there is an argument with the position therein by using numbering to lookup the nth of rows/colums. I have seen people using rows/columns/index functions to replace numbering. Now i come across offset and dont really understand its usage. Would someone please explain what is the difference between offset & index and how it can fit into lookup function.

    Thanks
