Help needed regarding - Additional characters in spreadsheets

Hello all,

I am wondering if it is possible to add a 'character' in a spreadsheet to show when an 'item' has made a promotion up or relegation down a specific table.
ie.

Week no1
- Item_1
- Item_2
- Item_3
- Item_4
- Item_5

Week no2
>3 Item_4
>1 Item_3
<1 Item_2
<3 Item_1
- Item_5

Week no3
>4 Item_5
>2 Item_1
<2 Item_4
<1 Item_2
<3 Item_3

But obviously i dont really want the <3 or - or >2 etc.. i was wondering if there is a 'special' icons that can be intrioduced to show this?.
