chart template saving issue

Hi All,

I am trying to save a chart as a template but when i apply it to another chart it doesn;t have all the original formatting i did. I doesn't retain the gradient fills on the series, the fact that i've changed one series to line on a col chart??

am i missing something, has anyone else had problems?

Which version of Excel?

i'm using 2007 which has all the nice 3d stuff included which i'm also using.

Do you have the latest service pack installed? (SP2)

Can you post example of your chart used to create template.

I have SP2 running. I've attached an image of some charts i'm working on and the template that i've saved.

The first chart in the image is the original chart with all the formatting that i'm saving as a template. The second (bottom) chart is another chart that i've applied the template to. As you can see it hasn't copied the series formatting (gradient in the columns and the colour of the line).

I just tried your template on both an existing chart and as the type of a newly created one.

For me both chart had the blue gradient fill for the columns.

As an aside gradient fills are not really suitable for charts.
