I am able to open existing workbooks, modify the data and save that workbook by clicking the 'Save' button. If I create a new workbook and I use the 'Save As' button my Excel locks up and the only thing I am able to do is to open the Windows Task Manager and end the task of Excel. The Excel program itself will do nothing.
Help...What to do to stop this problem.

No promises, but here are a few longshot questions which may guide you...
Are there any macros in the files?
(perhaps the file creator doesn't want info to be "copied" or saved as. Or there is an infinite loop tied into a BeforeSave event macro.)
How big are the files?
Do they have a lot of complex formulae (esp CSE array formulae, sumproducts,indirect etc)?
Have you changed a network printer recently?
