XX,XX format problem

hi ,
i have two cell one contain value of 12,10 and 20,52 when i try to sum them, i am getting result as 0.
i know that they are formatted as TEXT. but no error triangle appear on top corner??

SO can any one let me know how to store 12,25 format as number??

i have changed to Dutch in Regional settings in Control Panel.
but still it display that green triangle at top corner. my excel file is generated by one vb.net program.

when i enter value like this 12,10 then there is no triangle on top ??

can any one let me know why it happen in file generated by my vb.net program??

yes, you right. now it display that triangle on top of cell.

But i see one strange thing, it display in only those cells which are filled by my .net application. when i enter same value in same file in different cell than there is no error for it(means it take same value as number not text).

can you let me know why i am getting error though its in proper number format.

i solved problem. now everything is working properly.
your suggestion shown me path.
what i did is this. i changed decimal separator and grouping separator in Regional setting. and than i entered XX.XX value in excel using my .net appliaction. it automatically turn that in to XX,XX with number datatype.
