    Printing specific sheets

I have a workbook that has six sheets, five of which I want to print when the print option is selected from any of the five sheets. When I select "print" from the file menu I see that the "list" option in the "print what" section is greyed out. I'm thinking this is my solution, but how do I get the option?

Group the sheets you want to print before you begin printing and Excel will print them all.

To group sheets hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the sheets tabs.

I would "hide" the sheet you do not want printed (right click the tab, hide). then Print - Print What - Entire Workbook.

I do not understand the "list" option in "Print What" being grayed out. You may have problems with "Set Print Area" somewhere. When I get funky print pages, I end up copying all of the the tabs to a brand new worksheet and redoing printing set ups.

An example would help greatly if any of the advice above does not help.

Grouping gets the job done, but it creates a problem. I have the sheets protected and have certain cells unlocked for user input. When I group the sheets I get an error that says the sheets are read only bcause they're protected.

I don't see the "hide" option when I right-click the tab. I'm using 2003. Maybe it wasn't an option?

To hide a sheet click Format - Sheet - Hide

The List option on the Print What menu is for printing Lists created with the Data - Create List menu. It's not for listing the sheets you want to print.

I don't get an error message when grouping protected sheets. What are you doing with the sheets when the error message appears? If you are setting the print area you need to do this before protecting the sheets.
