Copying a sheet with Charts in it

I copied a sheet with 20 charts in it from a read only file.

I used the format move/copy command.


I want the charts to look for all their content to the new sheet not the old.

This will allow me to make multiversions of the file and graphs very easily.

However the program simply refuses to delink the charts from Mummy.

This must be (or at least should be) a trivially simple thing to do. I cant believe the bods at excel would make this difficult indeed I expected the chart to automatically look at the new sheet for content.

I have hit delink feature but only a part the charts update when I update the data locations. This has me very confused.

The charts are generated as a "series" I have no idea what that means at the sheet level (I do know what series means in English) but could this be problem.

Can anyone tell me whats going on?

I certainly dont want to go through every data series and point them at the new chart. There are 6 lines (minimum) per chart and 20 charts in the file. So this would be a royal pita.
