Excel 2007 : Excel 2007 activex controls inoperable

A relatively large excel file I've been working on contains several HIDE/SHOW buttons.

The file is a 1997-2003 file, but I've been working in both excel 2003 and 2007.

As I was working, not specifically with the buttons or associated VBA code, the buttons disappeared.

I don't think I did anything directly to cause this.

In addition, the Insert control button associated with ActiveX controls is no longer active. However, the VBA code is intact.

The security settings for both Macros and ActiveX are set to the lowest level.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem - the Insert control button associated with ActiveX controls is no longer active.

I'm trying to delete a button used for a Macro that I now deleted.
