    Post Vlookup within a Vlookup?

    Hello.

I have used Vlookup in a situation where the user selects the customer short code from a dropdown list and then it will display the customer address details in the 6 rows below the search area.

There can be 3 or 4 different contacts for each customer that I would like a dropdown list where the user can select the contacts just for that customer based on the vlookup criteria from above.

I tried assigning each customer a code, then making a new list of contacts, and naming the contacts based on the customer code, but got lost in what i was doing and not fully understanding what I was doing.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

    Thankyou

    Re: Vlookup within a Vlookup?

There is not really anything to upload my friend.

    The first VLookup works fine.
User selects customer from drop down list.
It then displays the customers address on the next 6 rows.
On the next row is Contact.
The idea is, based on the customer selected, user selects contact from drop down list populated with the relvent contacts for that customer.

    Sorry zbor.

    Re: Vlookup within a Vlookup?

I expect there are other ways, but this is how I would do it

It's not very pretty, and depending on how many clients you have it will take some setting up, but here you go

    dependent drop downs v2

    Cheers

I've had plenty of help on this and other forums myself over the years, so glad I could help you out.

You'll be doing it youself before you know it!
