Will 2003 macros work in 2007

My boss in a meeting stated that she believed that 2007 will not run 2003 macros when we convert to excel 2007 so we will have to rewrite all of our macros. Is this statement true? I can't believe it is that bad. Any info would be appreciated. Did a search on the web and this site and only get specific problems people are having, I am just looking for a high level answer. Does this mean a complete overhaul of the macros or just some minor changes in a few lines? Also she said that some formulas will not work either, is this the case? In 99.9% of our files we use the standard formulas that come with excel 2003. Can only think of one file that has a user generated formula. Can't believe that MS would change it that drastically. I know there are menu changes.

Major areas where code breaks or needs adjusting are,

    Charts and shapes.

File formats can be an issue. Saving file in the correct format .xls or .xlsx

Any of the stuff that has been deprecated may cause problems.

Customising or toolbars/menus/context menus may need changes.

Cross office application code will require testing.

As to the extent of the changes your particular code will need only you can really discover that by testing it. But if all your code does is work with cells/ranges, sheets and workbooks it will probably work.

Use that link given to research the deprecated features.

Deprecated in this usage means "stuff that was taken out".

Sorting code has also changed in 2007.
