    Insert Shapes based on Values

i need to insert up/down arrow based on the validation that needs to be done. I have range of values, based on which i want these arrows to appear.

    Scenario:
    1. Month on month comparison of data
    2. If the value increases, say a comparision done with July and August, if the value in july is more than august i want downward arrow in the month of August and upward arrow vice versa.
    3. Tried conditional formatting doesnt seem to help me
    4. Find attached spread sheet for description

Re: Insert Shapes based on Values

    Hi,
One method I frequently use is to build a formula which when true returns a particular character code and who false returns another.

The use formula driven conditional formatting to get the colours right

Example of both your desired outputs attached

Also attached file of character codes and how they look in different fonts.
