    Concatenate Just One Time...

    ...Yep, that's all I need to do - concatenate a value FROM (A1) INTO (A2) just ONE time (e.g., if A1's value changes 2, 3, 4, 5 times, I need A2 to reflect the FIRST value that A1 had), a sort of one-time concatenation, if you will... Simple Simon, right?

    One time, as in once when the workbook opens? If so, use the workbook open event:
    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
        With Me.Worksheets("Sheet1")
            .Range("A2").Value = .Range("A2").Value & Range("A1").Value
        End With
    End Sub
    Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate

    Re: Concatenate Just One Time...

    Hi,

    Thanx for the reply. I pasted that VBA code, but I'm still able to change data in A2 by/when entering it in A1, as if nothing were changed...??? (Macro security is wide open, too, in Excel 2007)... Ummm, again, I'm trying to limit the concatenation into A2 (from A1) to the FIRST, or to just ONE, "concatenatory instance", and to have it frozen there for eternity.

    Tanx again,

    G

    All the code does is catenate A1 to the end of A2 when the workbook opens. If you change A2 manually, umm, well, A2 changes. What else would you expect?
