    Excel Date Problem

    Hi,

I have tried to look for the answer to this on the forum but cannot find any solutions.

I fear this is a really simple and n00bish question, but I have tried everything to fix it,

Problem: We use a simple spreedsheet in work, and the person who enters in the data normally types in 01/10 and this then shows as 1-oct. All of a sudden this has stopped working, but instead displays the number 40087. The format on the cell is set to date, and I have also tried using a custom date of dd/mmm but it just returns back the number above.

I'm sure there is a really simple reason for this, but can someone give me some simple things to check for?

    thanks in advance

    Re: Excel Date Problem

I have now resolved this issue, the spreadsheet was in formula mode, simple tools > options > untick forumla box

    Fixed this issue
