Shade cell if "NO" value is entered in Excel 2003

Can you have a cell shade (using a formula) if another cell has a validation list response with "NO" in Excel 2003? Thanks for your help!!

Select the cell to shade and go to Format|Conditional Format

Select Formula Is from 1st drop down and enter formula:
    =$A1= "NO"

where A1 is the cell that has the data validation

    click Format and choose formatting.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
