Excel 2007 : Data entry issue for Excel 2007

I work in attendance for a non-profit and I need to report all of the students that are in our program. My issue is the schools have sent me information for ALL students but I only need the students that actually attend our program.

Which formula do I use to pull the data from the spreadsheet the school sends me into the spreadsheet I have that only lists the students that attend our program?

How could anyone answer that question without knowing what the data looks like that you receive?

I guess I was hoping for something general.

I can't post the spreadsheet since all of our information is confidential.
on Spreadsheet ...
one is Last Name, First Name, Student I.D., DOB (this is all of the students from in our after school program)
second is Last Name, First Name, Student I.D. DOB, CST Scores and CAHSEE Prep Scores. (these are students in the entire school)

I need the CST Scores and CAHSEE Prep scores in spreadsheet 2 to be added to the the correct students in Spreadsheet one

OK, general answer: Use Autofilter (http://www.contextures.com/xlautofilter01.html).

Apply a filter to the column that differentiates your students from all students to show only your students. Copy what's there (only visible cells will copy) to another sheet.

Or apply a filter to show only other students, then select all and delete (which will delete only visible cells).

The student isn't listed under our name it's just a bunch of students all on one spreadsheet. Is there an area I can get a formula that can show me how to pull the data from this spreadsheet into ours. when I do the filter I will manually have to go and click over 2000 students.

Use an INDEX/MATCH formula (http://www.contextures.com/xlFunctions03.html) on sheet 1 to retrieve whatver data you need from sheet2 using student ID as the lookup value.
