(2003) Get day of the week from a date

I have a list of dates in Excel that I would like to pull the day of the week it was on: for example, cell A1 has '1/03/09' and I would like it to display in B1 what day of the week that date was.

Any way to do that?

=A1 and format as ddd or dddd
