The source currently evaluates to an error

    Hi,

I keeping recieving the error "The source currently evaluates to an error. Do you wish to continue?"

when trying to use the following =INDIRECT(SUBSTITUTE($A$1,"","_")) in the validation.

What it is is the first drop down list an item then the second drop list those items related to that i.e the first drop down would be makes of car so say you slected ford and the second drop down would list all the cars produced by ford.

by table is set up like so

    Ford | Volvo | Mercedes | etc...
    a
    b
    c
    d

    Thanks in advance

    Paul

Are you sure you mean to replace a Null ("") [as opposed to a Space " "] with an Underscore ("_") ?
