    Keeping track of payments

You guys helped me with this sheet a while ago

    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...-payments.html

but i have got a bit of an error in it so im hoping you could help a bit more

on the payments sheet, balance column it is only referencing to col b but it needs to ref to col a & b otherwise it is giving a false balance for the plot numbers if you understand any of that
i would appreciate it if you could have a look for me

    Re: Keeping track of payments

on the payments sheet when i type the plot number and the fix type it brings up the price then when i type in a payment fron that plot/fix it reduces the balance for that plot/fix

the problem is the balance is only referring to the fix column where as it needs to refer to the plot and fix column

i.e if plot 1 roof had had a payment of £50 and the original pprice was £200 then the balance for plot 1 roof would be £150 but if plot 2 roof was £200 and no payments had been made it should come up as £200 when i type that plot / fix in but the sheet is only taking referance from the fix and not the fix & plot so at the moment when i type in plot 2 roof it will come up as £150 balance not £200 because £50 has been paid on plot 1 roof and the sheet is only referencing the fix column (roof)

sorry that was a very long winded explanation and i hope you can understand what im saying

    =IF(E3="","",E3-SUMPRODUCT(--($A$3:$A3=A3),--($B$3:$B3=B3),($F$3:$F3)))

it gives me a value error in the first cell if i dont enter a payment, it is not a problem but is there a way to get rid of this just for tidyness?

my edit button has vanished from the first post so i cant mark it as solved?
