    looking up a secondary array

I have an array of items that in one column contains a sub-array of sizes for that item. How would I return the sub-array?

    Hi,
as far as I understand, VLOOKUP returns the value of the cell. You use an array constant to populate the cell, but only the first element of the array is the visible value of the cell. This is returned by VLOOKUP.

Why are you using array constants as input? AFAIK, Excel can only use array constants in array formulas; they don't compute well elswhere.

Sorry. Not what you're after, but the best I can give.

Re: looking up a secondary array

I am trying to condense an already large table. The array constant would be used to populate a combobox control. While quite a few rows have duplicate array constants, I want to be able to change an individual row without affecting the others.

The sample I gave showed only the columns needed in order to highlight my question.

    Thanks for the feedback though.
