I am having trouble getting my paramters to converge using solver. I took the natural log of f(x) several well known distrubtions (Burr, Weibull, u.s.w.). Under some data conditions, it converges, for others, no convergence (or a variety of error functions). I believe this is due partly due to the inapplicability of the distribution to the data, and partly due to limitations within solver. I heard that perhaps a simplex macro exists to alleviate this problem. A simple google search yielded no results. If anyone can point me in the right direction (I am not familiar with VBA) it would be much appreciated.
