    Using Excel with Autocad Jointly

Hi, I have production drawings for doors that we make in Autocad. I have the formulas that derive all the dimensions that go on these drawings based on their height and width in an Excel file. Is there anyway that I can combine these two so that jointly I can get the dimensions calculated in Excel to appear on my Autocad drawing? I dont need it to redraw anything, just to put whatever dimensions there are on it. Thank you

    Just to clarify your requirements/situation:
You have a single cell value in your Excel spreadsheet
You have a drawing in AutoCAD, which contains a specific dimenion.
You want to edit the text of the dimensions (don't worry, I won't say anything), to the contents of the cell?

I suspect your solution will be more AutoCAD-based rather than Excel.

Do you have full-blown AutoCAD or LT? Do you have any Lisp experience?

lol yea it doesn't need to physically change the drawing. Just the number.

You could just embed your drawing in an excel sheet and overlay the dimensions if that helps!

    danellis thanks I emailed you.

squiggler47- Thanks I actually tried to do that, but it's just impossible really to get the dimensions to line up with the cells in the imbedded drawing, a real pain

Have you looked into using AutoCAD scripts with Excel as a solution?
