linked cells won't format correctly

I am having difficulty formatting some cells that I haved linked to another worksheet within the same workbook. I have a number of cells linked, but a few of them will not format. The number pulls over, but it is white text and will not change. Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution? Please note this matter is urgent! Thanks.

Nope...there are none applied...I will try to apply some though and see if I can override whatever the issue is.

I just tried some conditional formatting and that worked. It now shows what I want it to. Good idea. Thanks.
