Find the cheepest provider in a table

    Hi,

I must have gone into a complete "blackout" as I am stuck with something that seems to be more than simple.

In cell F18 I need a NON Array-formula in order to return the cheapest Provider for a given Country [to be selected via D.V. in cell F14].

I manged to find an Array formula which I left in a broken state in cells F6-->H6/

Will somebody be kind enough to Relief me from that shame ?

    Thanks, Elm

    DonkeyOte,

No wonder why I mentioned my "blackout".

If you'll look at the table headers [Prov.3 in Col. "B" instead of Prov.2 - you'll understand why...)

I assume that this is the "shortest" formula for my example.

Thank you so much for your prompt and solving replay.

Re: Find the cheepest provider in a table

    =MIN(OFFSET(INDIRECT("A"&MATCH($F$14,$A$14:$A$18,0)+13),,1,,3))
    put in f18

the +13 is a row adjustment for wherever your table is situated

Martin, unfortunately that only returns the Min value rather than returning the associated provider.

Regardless IMO (FWIW) INDEX would be the preferred option when establishing the MIN given the age-old issue of Volatility:

    =MIN(INDEX($B$14:$D$18,MATCH($F$14,$A$14:$A$18,0),0))
