round down to 2 decimal places as a general rule

    hello

i need to set quite a lot of excel documents to round down numbers to 2 decimal places instead of default natural rounding. for example, i need number 10.1268 to display as 10.12 instead of 10.13. i need this as a general rule because otherwise i would have to put rounddown() into every single cell in dozens of documents and it would also spoil the calculations.

is there a way to make this?

    thanks!

    jp

    Hi janaper

    Would

    hey, pike
that's not it. i need to avoid rounding. what you suggest makes 4.57 out of 4.56789. i need the result to look like 4.56 even though the real number is 4.56789

You need to use ROUNDDOWN to do that. Excel always rounds for display when you limit the number of decimal places in a cell.

Would fixing to three decimal places be an option if you didnt want to use the ROUNDDOWN Function?
