Sequencing numbers in a formula.

I'm trying to sequence some information in column(E). However if a cell is blank(B) then a blank cell appears and the sequenced number is placed in the following row of the column. e.g:

pear 1
apple 2
banana 3
mango 4

pear 1
apple 2

mango 3
