    Fixed Characters in a cell

I need to create a file that I have to send to someone to download my procedures codes for work. The file has a specific format it must be. For example the the first cell must be 10 characters long. The data that I am putting into that cell is only two characters, so I need to type 8 space bars after it in order for the cell to be 10 characters exactly. Is there a way for excel to put the spaces in automatically to make the cell a specific width? I have not been able to find one.

Another cell needs to be 30 characters, this particular cell has a different number of characters in the cell.

    Thank you,
    Jenn

Hi We5, welcome to the forum. Is a macro OK? If so, please make a list for:

The column, the number of characters, the type of data (I imagine it's all going to be text if we're adding spaces). For instance:

    Column A, 10 char, text
    Column B, 30 char, text

I can create a worksheet_change macro that will correct your values as you enter them....as long as you're OK with a macro running all the time.
