    Cut and Paste

I am running Vista Ultimate and Office 2007 Excel. We do a lot of E-bay transactions and I use Cut and Paste extensively. I have noticed in the last couple of days this feature started to slow down (little circle rotating clockwise, wait finally...) Today it stopped working all together. Control alt delete, task manager says: Excel not responding... The little clockwise circle is rotating the screen is grayed out and I wait ....nothing. finally I close the window. Restart the program enter the information manually.

    Anyone else see this ??

I have also noticed this on another computer that is running microsoft mail and Vista. Any attached documents have to be saved before opening. If you try to open the document in Mail the program ends up not responding. Upgrading from Home to Ultimate and re-installing Office made no difference.

    This is really frustrating.

    Re: Cut and Paste

Hello! I am using Excel 2003, but I have sometimes noticed a similar problem, and have found a work around (maybe it will work for you, too).

It seems (for me) to always happen when I am cutting and pasting from this one particular website. I think that the information that I'm copying is actually more than the value that I am seeing, so I tried pasting values instead, and it worked much more quickly for me.

    Give that a try.
After you copy the information from the website, and you go to Excel, try "right-clicking" and choose "Paste Special" and then choose "Values only".

    See if this doesn't help.
