changing 15 digit numbers from scientific display to regular

I have a column of FedEx tracking #'s that when exported from fedex software display as scientific. In order for the number to display correctly, the only solution i've found is to change the column to format type>text and go through each cell and "edit" and "enter", or press the f2 key, then the enter key.

In the uploaded example, the tracking #'s have come from a .csv report which turns the last few digits to zeros. I've simply used this portion of the report as an example of the symptom. the data is irrelevant.

So i'd like a fast way to process this information. I would expect this symptom would be somewhat uncommon however.

    Thanks in advance for help.

If you remove the .csv extension from the export file and then open the now extension-less file directly from within XL you will be presented with the Text Import Wizard... you can then set the Column in question to Text (step 3) prior to the data being loaded into XL.

    Does that help ?

    Don,

That wasn't part of this particular problem, but thanks, i'll need that somewhere else. Thanks.

To be more specific, the export goes to an .xls. BUT the tracking info column displays in scientific. So, i export, and simply double click the file, and the display is as stated.

My only solution is stated above as well, but i would think there's a more efficient way to do this than two keystrokes per row for 400 rows.

Not entirely sure I follow but on the same theme use Text to Columns...

Highlight column C -> Data -> Text to Columns -> jump to step 3 & Set to Text -> Finish
