    New to Exel

    I have Exel 2000 (9.0.2720), Win.98 SE, OE6 and IE6

I know very little about Exel. I have no qualifications on the subject. I have set up a spreadsheet re- crown green bowling data I have entered the teams and scores correctly. There are three colums showing, respectively: Participants, Points and Shots. When I use 'Sort' in an endeavour to put the latter two in ascending order, consecutively, it merely reverses the columns, whereas I need them to show the exact order of merit against the relevant participants.

I sense that I have an inadequate version of Exel. Would you advise please.

    Regards,
    Emrys Davies.

    Hi,

You need to highlight all of the data in the 3 cells, including the headings,

On the menu at the top of the screen, select 'Data' then 'Sort'.

You should get a box pop up with options.

Select what headings you would like sorting first, and whether you want it ascending or descending, and if you want it sorted with a secondary field, select that heading below.

Let me know if this helps.
