Linking to data and keep original formatting

    Hi,

I have a 'budget log' spreadsheet set up in excel, which calculates the remaining percentage of a budget when inputting new costs etc...

However, a few types of entries do not have a preset budget, so i just need to show their +/- monetary value.

So..... as the column i am linking this data into is formatted to show the data with percentage, only a few types need to show a currency value, NOT a percentage. But i do not want to format the column everytime.

I am linking this column to another datatable, which gets the currency value from a currency formatted cell, so is there not a general format that takes on whatever format the source data is formatted?

Please help as its doing my head in! lol..

    Thanks a lot

    Paul
