highlight or select todays date when opening.

Simple for some but not for me.

Would like to be able to open a workbook with 3 sheets that will highlight or turn the cells a different color that have todays date in the cells.

Date in the cells show 01-May format but show in formula bar as 06/01/2009

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.

Select the cells of interest and do Format > Conditional Formatting, Cell Value Is, =TODAY() and format as you wish.

I assume (1) that that's an unrelated question, and (2) that it shows in the formula bar as 5/1/09, not 6/1/09.

Excel shows dates in the formula bar in the Windows short date format in your regional settings. How it appears in cells is a result of your formatting.
