Lock cell formatting but allow data changes

    Hi everyone.

I have a excel spreadsheet, which I've formatted all my colum width's and height. The data chnages and is updated by importing a txt csv file, however everytime I import data, the formatting changes.

I've tried locking the cells I don't want to change and then protecting the worksheet, but when I do this I can't select Import Data from the Data menu.

Anybody any ideas if I can do this or not???

    Cheers

    Hi,

import your CSV file on a different sheet, then copy all, go to your formatted sheet and paste special - Values only. This will preserve the formatting.

    cheers
