    Sorting data

    Hello all,

First thanks in advance for any help. I have a spreadsheet that itemizes woodworking parts based upon the size of an object. The list that is compiled has a column for - Door (or drawer) number, Quantity, Height and length. Each row pertains to a part and each array of 4 columns and 4 rows is the parts for that piece. Each door (or drawer) has five pieces - 2 rails, 2 stiles and a panel. My dilemma is that these parts are not cut the mosty effectively.

What I need the list to do is compile all the parts in the spreadsheet and list the parts by type in descending size order. See tab #4 for sample of how I need the data to be - This tab is not the actual data and is not tied to anything else in the workbook.

See tab #2 for the way the information is currently used.

    Thanks again for any help.

    Re: Sorting data

It appears that this will be a pivot table. Should I delete this post and move to a table forum on this site? Thanks again for any help!!!
