Excel 2007 : XXXXXXXX's in Text Box problem

I created a form with Excel that has a large "text box" that I created by merging some cells and then using "Wrap Text." I've done this numerous times before with no problem, but now, when I type several lines of text in the box using the text wrap, and then hits TAB or ENTER, all the text changes to ################'s. However, when I click back into the cell again, the text reappears.

I've only seen the appearance of ####'s when a cell is not large enough to hold the data, but this cell is plenty large, and the text doesn't even come close to filling it up.
