    converting 2003 to 2007

I converted some documents from excel 2003 to 2007. They still won't open even though the file format is xslx. How do I fix?

if they originally had macros in them you have to save them as .XLSM

Otherwise any 2003 spreadsheet will open in excel 2007 and operate the same!

What did you use to convert them?

and what are you trying to open them with?

what errors and or warnings do you get?
    Cheers

I downloaded the compatibility patch from microsoft and once they were in compatibility mode, I chose convert from the excel 2007 menu.
