How do I use "countif" if I have more than 2 criteria

I want to use the excel "countif" function to count multiple criteria in another workbook within the same worksheet. For example:

    Column A Column B
    Coordinated x
    Paperboard
    Non-coordinated

I only want to count the rows that have "coordinated" and an "x".

    Thanks!

    =SUMPRODUCT((A1:A5="Coordinated")*(B1:B5="X"))
adjust range to suit both ranges mest be same length
