Excel File Language Settings

Hello!
I have a question: I need to change the language in an excel file, is there a way to do that? The file was created with excel that has Russian language settings, and when I open it with English version it still keeps the Russian words in the tables (like "sum", "total", etc) I tried changing the language settings of my Excel to english again, hoping that it would automatically update the file, but that didn't work. So, is there a way to change the common excel terms' language in a specific file?
