I have a user in the company that uses Excel 2003 and she cannot click on a excel document directly and view it. When she does, Excel launches and she receives a blank Excel interface (no gridlines, just the excel tool and menu bars with no data on the Excel Viewer Screen) and no error messages. The only way she can open them is to launch Excel, and then choose the file through the Excel file menu.
When I login to her machine (with a network admin account) I click on the same Excel documents directly (without opening excel first), and I can't replicate her problem. The Excel document opens fine.
Things I have checked:
- Permissions on the files (All permissions on excel files should allow her to open them)
- XLS files are associated with the Excel application in the Control Panel -> Folder Options box
- I've set Macro security to medium (it was on high) but there aren't any macros associated with these excel files, but I was out of ideas at this point.
Anyone come across a problem like this?
